Itinerary
Day 01 ARRIVE DELHI AIRPORT
Upon your arrival at Delhi Airport our team will be holding your name in the arrivals hall. You will be met and transferred to your Hotel for check-in with welcome briefing. Our travel manager will then outline your wonderful itinerary ahead.
Day 02 OLD DELHI TOUR > ‘AGRA’ SUNSET TAJ TOUR Breakfast
Step-back in time and discover the glory of the great mughal empire and British raj of India. Your own private guide will ensure that you get an in-depth experience of these emblematic structures and the traditions of the local culture.
After breakfast you will be met by our expert Delhi guide who will take you on a journey thru Old Delhi, founded as Shahjahanabad in 1639 as the capital of the great Mughal Empire. We will visit the marvelous red-standstoned Jama Masjid Mosque built by mughal emperor and maker of taj mahal – Shah Jahan in 1644 AD showcasing finest indo-islamic architectures. If permitting we climb inside its 40 m high 120 steps southern minaret for panoramic views of the walled city ie old delhi. Afterwards, we hop-on a traditonal Rickshaw Ride Tour exploring real life and buzz of old city thru maze-like streets of the iconic wholesale bazaar Chandni Chowk and asia’s largest spice trading markets Khari Baoli. Our ride ends with a photostop outisde the imperial residence of mughal empire and unesco heritage site - The Red Fort, built in 1638 and rumoured to have the decapitated bodies of prisoners built into its foundations for luck. After tour we drive to Agra (230 Kms) aka the legacy city of Mughal-Empire and home of Taj Mahal (drive includes enroute stop for clean restrooms). Upon arrival our representative will meet you for Check-In at Hotel.
5pm. We take you to riverside gardens Mehtab Bagh to enjoy Sunset seeing of Taj Mahal. A perfect view for photography too !!. After sunset we return to Hotel.
Day 03 SUNRISE TOUR – TAJ MAHAL & AGRA FORT Breakfast
At the break of dawn our Taj Mahal expert guide will meet you in the lobby along with eco-friendly Golf Carts to take you for a Sunrise Tour of Taj Mahal. Capture some splendid moments in the perfect lighting. Feel free to enjoy your private time and explore the site surrounded by royal gardens to intricate tombs. Afterwards we return back to hotel for Breakfast.
Late in the morning,, we journey through the cities traditional houses, British raj colonies and Mughal architectures to arrive at India’s finest Mughal fortress - The Red Fort of Agra, a UNESCO world heritage site and the imperial residence of 16th century rulers of ‘Mughal Dynasty’. This 34-hectare red sandstone fortress dates back to 1080 AD and has seen many battles and dynasties. Witness interesting fusion of Hindu - Islamic influences on its construction as you walk inside the fort with your guide and learn about the different functions of the buildings including the Moti Masjid (Pearl Fort), Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), Diwan-i-Am (Hall of Public Audience), Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace) and much more.
Optional Direct-Pay: In the evening special arrangements will be made for you to experience traditional Indian Mughlai Dinner in the city at a popular restaurant. After Dinner we return to Hotel.
Day 04 AGRA > LEGENDARY PINK CITY OF JAIPUR Breakfast
After Breakfast/Checkout we will journey to Jaipur (230 Kms) aka the legendary Pink City and capital of Rajasthan state of India. Upon arrival our representative will meet you for Check-In at Hotel.
Enroute, if time permit we will visit the spectacular Underground Step-wells ‘Chand Baori’ that lie hidden deep in the village of ‘Abhaneri’. This 10th century
built zigzagged stepwells is a geometric wonder where Royals used to picnic, and today a popular spot for films ‘Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’.
Enroute, if time permits we will also visit Kanota Village for experiencing the infamous viceroys club from film Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Welcome to Castle Kanota built in 1872 by Kanota warrior clan to serve the Maharaja of Jaipur. Enjoy time by yourself to experience the glory of a bygone royal era, from vintage dining to rustic library of the royal family. Traditional Chai Tea & Cookies will be served on spot.
Day 05 JAIPUR SIGHTSEEING - TUK TUK & BOLLYWOOD Breakfast
After Breakfast our expert Rajasthan guide will meet you for briefing on your heritage program for the day. We begin with a classic Jeep Ride the uphill located Amber Fortress, a must see of Jaipur! Built in 16th century by Rajput commander ‘Raja Man Singh I’, the fortress offers magnificent hilltop views with an intricate Mirror Palace and fine blends of Hindu-Rajasthani architecture.
Next, visit outside Water Palace ‘Jal Mahal’ located in the center of ‘Man Sagar Lake’ housing various migratory birds and surrounded by ‘Aravalli Ranges’.
Today Afternoon we arrive in the heart of Old City to visit Astronomical Observatory ‘Jantar Mantar’ where our guide will teach you how its bizarre giant instruments work to measure celestial objects. Followed by visit to residence of the Royal Family locally called Jaipur City Palace and Museum. Built in 1700 AD by ‘Raja Jai Singh II’, this Palace is a paradise of royal heritage history as it houses rare galleries from British Raj and Rajput Era. Later, we hit the downtown Jaipur Bazaar for a Tuk Tuk Tour thru its narrow alleyways. Chaos & amusement goes hand-in-hand here. Feel free to stop anywhere for street shopping. Inside the bazaar we also visit Jaipur’s most distinctive landmark The Palace of Winds ‘Hawa Mahal’ built in a unique pink-colored beehive design that is certainly hard to miss. Witness its 958 intricately designed windows that were built for Royal Women to explore city life from a high-rise. Ou Tuk-Tuk ride ends outside 1976 Heritage Cinema Raj Mandir where we watch a new release Bollywood Blockbuster film. After Bollywood film we will return to Hotel.
Day 06 NEW DELHI TOUR Breakfast
After Breakfast/Checkout we drive you to New Delhi (270 Km) and enjoy village scenery enroute (drive includes enroute stop for clean restrooms).
In the afternoon we conduct New Delhi tour and experience the infamous Lutyens Delhi aka the new city, known for its innovative architecture from the 1930’s British raj, and now the political heart of independent India. This colonial city with its European influences was a power symbol of the British Empire. We will explore fine works of Sir Edwin Lutyen, that later became the fabric and features of modern India. We cover New Delhi’s most imposing sites such as Gandhi Smriti, the remembrance home & museum of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of India who got assassinated here in 1948., afterwards we explore inside gold covered Sikh Shrine Bangla Sahib Gurudwara and volunteer inside its holy Community Kitchen that daily feeds over 10,000 devotees, pilgrims and homeless. Ceremonial Boulevard Raj Path designed by Lutyens in 1921 taking similarities from Champs Elysee of France. The India Gate, a 42m-high stone memorial arch pays tribute to 70,000 soldiers of British Indian Army who died in the first world war. Government Buildings, President and Parliament House from outside and to the City Center Market Connaught Place named after the ‘Duke of Connaught’ and surrounds the central park of Delhi. This horse-shoe shaped market remains a showpiece of Lutyens Delhi. Here we also visit the bargain streets of “Janpath” Known for Handicrafts, hippy clothing, shoes, paintings, brassware, Indian artifacts, leather work, fragrances, and cheap jewelry.
After the tour, we return to your Delhi Hotel where you will be met by our representative for Check-In and briefed for next day’s departure pick-ups & formalities.
Day 07 DEPART DELHI AIRPORT Breakfast
After Breakfast/Check Out you will be picked up from your hotel and driven to Delhi Airport to connect onwards flight to Dubai
